It is important to note that this information is intended for guidance only. Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis to the best candidates and there is no guarantee that candidates who meet the minimum requirements outlined below will be successful in the overall competition.

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following.

2. Conditional or unconditional offer-holder
Candidates must have secured a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on the part-time MBA programme for entry in September 2014 prior to applying for the MBA Professional Scholarship.

3. Academic achievement
Successful candidates will be required to achieve the equivalent of a UK First Class or strong Second Class bachelor degree. As a general guide, this would equate to:

As a result, when deciding whether a candidate’s grades represent outstanding academic performance, the University’s experience and knowledge of the country’s educational system, of the student’s subject area and of the marking systems used by individual institutions will be taken into consideration.
Where appropriate, the overall ranking of the candidate within their cohort will also be taken into account.

The main criteria for the award of scholarships will be the outstanding contribution made by the applicant to his/her organisation in the last 3-5 years. In a 1,000 word statement, candidates are required to demonstrate how they have added real value to their business organisations using entrepreneurial and innovative ideas to deliver sustainable solutions. Applicants must express how they overcame the challenges faced and demonstrate their leadership and critical thinking skills.

Applicants will also need to state how the Hertfordshire MBA will assist them achieve their future career goals. These Professional Scholarships will be available to private, non-profit, public sector employees and established entrepreneurs.
